PR - Must input Pax title (31 Jul 0)

PR Requirement - Input of Passenger Title
Please include the passenger title (MS/MR/MSTR/MIST) when booking and ticketing. Per PR procedure, passenger gender is a requirement, hence it is important that the title be included in the name field of the PNR, as well as the ticket.
Non-inclusion of the passenger title slows down the check-in process due names have to amended. This may eventually cause flight delays and inconvenience to passengers on queue.

Cathay Pacific and Travelport Announce Multi-Year Marketing Agreement (17 Aug10)

Hong Kong-based carrier and GDS provider sign major global deal Cathay Pacific Airways and Travelport, a leading provider of critical transaction processing for the global travel industry, announce a marketing agreement that will provide all Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan-connected travel agents with efficient access to the airline’s fares and content.
The five-year deal provides Travelport’s extensive network of travel agency customers worldwide access to Cathay Pacific’s fares and inventory of flights, with full booking functionality. The agreement takes effect immediately.
"We are delighted to renew our agreement with Cathay Pacific which ensures that all Travelport-connected agents will have unprecedented access to fares from this leading international carrier. The new deal also seals parity for travel agency users in Asia and worldwide,” said Simon Nowroz, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Travelport GDS.
"Both parties have been focused in finding a cost-effective arrangement that provides the greatest benefit for our travel agency partners. The latest deal offers comprehensive access to Cathay Pacific’s fares, functionality and content available to travel agents today,” said Clarence Tai, General Manager Sales & Distribution, Cathay Pacific.
The agreement with Cathay Pacific is the latest example of Travelport’s strategy of securing content agreements and reaffirms the value of its global distribution platforms for airlines. Other recent airline renewals include British Airways, Emirates and Etihad.

SQ allow only the issuing agent to display ETR (7 Jan 09)

SQ ETR display (7Jan09)
SQ allow only the issuing agent to display SQ ETR. If an non-issuing agent, they will then check if the ET was issued by the same GDS requesting for the display. If the GDS code is from Travelport i.e. 1G/1V/1P, they will allow the agent to display the ET even if the IATA number does not match that of the issuing agent.
Travelport will then perform the authorization checks, as is done currently, to ensure that only authorized agents are able to view the ET.
In essence, this will not change current work processes or existing bridge and branch/selective agreements in place and will allow our Helpdesks teams to maintain their capability to display ETRs of agents. However, this change will impact migrated agents from one GDS to another GDS in that only the issuing agent will be allowed to display the ET i.e. migrated agents’ branch offices/agencies will no longer be able to display the ETs issued by another branch/agency.
This change will be implemented on 7 January 09.
