Travelport and China Eastern Airlines Sign Long-Term NDC and Multi-Source Content Deal

LANGLEY, UK — 8 January 2025 — Travelport announced today a new multi-year content agreement with China Eastern Airlines, one of China’s three largest carriers and a member of the SkyTeam alliance, that includes full New Distribution Capability (NDC) integration across its retail platform.
Under the deal, Travelport’s agency customers will gain seamless access to China Eastern’s NDC content — including booking and servicing capabilities such as modifications, cancellations, and exchanges — via Travelport’s comprehensive NDC solution. The partnership also aims to scale NDC adoption by making the airline’s personalized offers and traditional content more accessible to travel retailers globally.
Fu Jian, Vice President of Digital Transformation and Business Management at China Eastern Airlines, said: “This agreement marks an important step in our NDC journey. Our goal is to deliver top-tier, customized experiences to travelers, and Travelport’s advanced retailing technology helps us reach more agencies and their customers effectively.”
Travelport will leverage its AI-driven tools, including the Content Curation Layer (CCL) and Content Optimizer in Travelport+, to streamline search and display enriched, relevant content from China Eastern. Damian Hickey, Global Head of Travel Partners at Travelport, noted: “Our focus is on being the industry’s leading multi-source content aggregator. Together with China Eastern, we’re ensuring NDC in Travelport+ is simple to access, compare, and manage — helping agents deliver the best options to travelers.”
The agreement further expands Travelport’s NDC portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing its role in driving the industry’s shift toward modern, flexible retailing.
